The NYSC Management in Lagos State organised a Job Awareness and Creation (JAC) initiative from the 16th to the 21st of February 2023 as part of activities marking the NYSC members completion and passing out of the NYSC programme. The JAC initiative programme of the NYSC aligns with RETECH Foundation’s Corpers Corner initiative. Our Chair, Ronye Egborge CEng, CGeol, MBA was invited by the NYSC Management in Lagos State to speak to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members in the State about ‘improving their employability’. He provided them with general tips and advise on how to improve their chances of landing their first jobs including how to go about searching for the right opportunity, how to write a good and attractive CV, tips for interviews and the importance of seeking a good mentor to guide them on life’s journey. He offered the NYSC members the opportunity to apply for RETECH Foundation’s mock assessment centre (which will include CV review, mock interview & group exercise) and provided them with more information on RETECH Foundation’s Mentorship Programme and how they can register to be a mentee on the programme.
RETECH Foundation, as part of our Corpers Corner initiative, plans to continue to provide more guidance and advise to NYSC members across the country as they begin their life journey after school.
Our thanks go to the Lagos State Co-Ordinator of NYSC and her Management team for making this happen. Special thanks to Mrs Nweke, Mrs Dolapo Odulana and the Local Government Inspector, Eti-Osa 3, Mrs Esangbedo for making this possible.
