We are pleased to announce the establishment of 10 RETECH Foundation Book Clubs (RFBCs) at Edokpolor Secondary School, Benin, Edo State. Each book club comprises 10 members who will meet monthly for engaging reading sessions and book discussions. During the inauguration ceremony, RETECH Foundation representative, Adobi Ilevbare, presented 100 books to the 100 members of these newly formed book clubs. Emphasizing the importance of cultivating a reading culture, she highlighted how it enhances social skills and emotional intelligence among students. The school’s management and students expressed gratitude to the Foundation for extending this valuable initiative to their school and for the book donation.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Commissioner for Education in Edo State, along with other members of the Ministry of Education in Edo State, and the administration of Edokpolor Secondary School for their collaborative efforts in facilitating this endeavour.

RETECH Foundation’s book clubs are designed to foster a culture of reading within public secondary schools. By nurturing reading habits, we aim to enhance the social skills and academic performance of our club members, ultimately equipping them with the employability and entrepreneurship skills necessary for socio-economic empowerment.
