Milestone Alert

RETECH Foundation Power2Schools (P2S) Programme – Asagba Mixed School, Asaba

Last week we achieved another significant milestone in our EDP co-funded Power2Schools Project in Delta State by completing the installation of a 20 kW solar system at Asagba Mixed School, in Asaba, Delta State. This solar system is now seamlessly integrated into the school’s infrastructure, providing power to classrooms, administrative blocks, ICT & Science laboratories.

This achievement ensures affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy access for approximately 1,500 direct beneficiaries in 2024, with projections to benefit over 2,400 individuals by 2028. Additionally, the solar system has been connected to the school’s water system enabling access to clean water for the school students and members of the community where the school is located.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to EDP for co-funding this project as part of the 5th edition of their A2E fund. We also express appreciation to the Commissioner for Education in Delta State, the Permanent Secretary, the Ministry of Education, the Director of Schools, the Ministry of Education, and the Management of Asagba Mixed School for their support. Special thanks to Emeka Akamaguna, RETECH Foundation’s Asaba P2S coordinator, for his unwavering commitment and dedication to the project’s success.
