Lawrence Ajuyah
Lawrence Ajuyah was educated at the Universities of Lagos,Birmingham and Benin where he graduated BSc (Eng.), MSc(Water Resources) and MBA respectively. He has over 40 years’ experience in engineering practice and in management.He had his initial experience with the Nigerian RailwayCorporation, Zaria on drainage and building projects and railway bridges, then with ENPLAN Group/Sir Alexander Gibb Partnership on the design of hydraulic structures, bridges and irrigation systems and as assistant resident engineer on the Savannah Sugar Company Irrigation Scheme/Kiri Dam project. Thereafter,
he worked with Balfour Beatty Engineering on the design of the Balanga Dam headworks and irrigation system.
He joined Shell Petroleum Development Company in January 1985and worked in various technical and senior management roles including: head, civil and structural engineering design; senior oil and gas facilities engineer; senior business planner and petroleum economist; head, civil infrastructures; infrastructural services manager and engineering manager, all in the Western Division and later as corporate manager, major pipeline projects, civil engineering and eastern matrix projects. He retired voluntarily inDecember 2014 after 30 years of meritorious service. During the period he attended several technical, management, health, safety and environment courses in Nigeria, Europe and the USA including advanced management programs at the Harvard and Wharton business schools. Lawrence is currently CEO at ENMAS Consulting, providing engineering and management consultancy and advisory services. He is COREN registered, a UK Chartered Engineer, Fellow of theNigerian Society of Engineers, the Institution of Civil Engineers(ICE) UK, the Nigerian Institution of Structural Engineers and theNigerian Institute of Management. He is a Chartered Arbitrator. He is currently country representative for the ICE in Nigeria, a registered ICE mentor and professional reviewer. He has a passion for professional excellence and for mentoring younger professionals.
