Edo Book Club: Anglican Girls Grammar School, Benin

As part of RETECH Foundation’s 10/10/1000 initiative in Edo State, we recently set up 10 RETECH Foundation Book Clubs (RFBCs) at Anglican Girls Grammar School, Benin City. We were warmly received by the principal and teachers of the school.

We presented a 100 books, one each to the book club members who are currently in SS 1 & SS 2. The Principal nominated Mrs. Omoragbon, a teacher in the school to take on the role of Book Clubs Coordinator.

We would like to thank RETECH Foundation’s Coordinator in Benin City, Mrs Adobi Ilevbare for liaising with the Ministry of Education in Edo State, organising the book clubs and presenting the books to the book club members.

Special thanks to our RETECH Foundation UK sponsors who made this happen, especially attendees of the DINE2IMPACT event held on the 11th of March in Aberdeen.

We are also grateful to the Commissioner for Education, The Permanent Secretary and the Director of Schools in the Edo State Ministry of Education for the roles they played in making this happen. Our thanks also go to the principal and management of Edo Boys High School.
