Our 2019 scholar, Muniratu Yesufu, will begin her studies in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Benin during the next academic session. Muniratu got the admission to study medicine after scoring an exceptional 301 out of 400 in the 2022 University Tertiary Matriculation Examination. A score only a small percentage of those who write the UTME are able to achieve. We offered Muniratu a RETECH Foundation merit scholarship in 2019 for finishing top in the Basic Education Certificate Exam (BECE) in her school, University of Benin Demonstration Secondary School (UDSS). We are delighted to report that her academic performance has been consistently great since her scholarship award.
In a Country, where Physicians (per 1,000 people) was reported at 0.38 in 2018, according to the World Bank Collection of development indicators, we are pleased that Muniratu has chosen to study Medicine and Surgery at University and we are delighted to be a part of her success story.
