The 2023 Yinka Bankole Merit Scholarship Awards were recently presented to two exceptional students at Command Secondary School in Ibadan, Nigeria. Ogunlade Darasimi Samuel and Raimi Rodiat were both recognized for their outstanding academic achievements and received recognition from Yinka Bankole, an alumnus of the school who has generously donated these awards.
We extend our warmest congratulations to Ogunlade Darasimi Samuel and Raimi Rodiat for being awarded the 2023 Yinka Bankole Merit Scholarship Award at Command Secondary School, Ibadan. Darasimi, who is an exceptional student, has been awarded three categories of the merit scholarship. He scored the best mock result for SS3 WAEC, was the best graduating SS3 student and was the best-graduating student who is a child of a non-commissioned officer and below at Command Secondary School, Ibadan in 2023. His hard work and dedication to his studies have been rewarded with these awards. Rodiat has also been awarded the scholarship for scoring the best mock result in chemistry for SS3 WAEC at Command Secondary School, Ibadan in 2023. Her performance in the subject has been exemplary, and it is no surprise that she has been chosen for the award.
Mr. Bankole, who is a distinguished engineer, is an alumnus of Command Secondary School’s class of 1986. He was the best-graduating student in his class, achieving the highest WAEC mock and WAEC results with six A1s and three A3s. Throughout his academic career, Mr. Bankole has always been a high achiever, maintaining an outstanding performance record. Mr. Bankole is a chartered chemical engineer specialising in flow assurance and working with Eni Oil and Gas. He has always wanted to give back to the school in which as a library prefect, the library provided him with infinite reading material for gaining knowledge and discipline to never give up. Mr. Bankole continues to hold the school’s motto “Discipline & Knowledge” in high regard which according to him, will stay with him forever. He intends to continue these awards to the best-graduating student overall, the best-graduating student of a non-commissioned officer and below and the best mock result for SS3 WAEC.
